All heaters wired into a single receptacle for extension cord connection. For bumper-mounted, receptacle located at front bumper to right of cab centerline. Recommended to plug in at lower temperatures at end of daily route until next engine start.

Crankshaft PTO Adapter – 1350/1410 Series Standard (Engine Equipment – Engine PTO Adapter)

1350/1410 crankshaft mounted PTO adapter standard on all L9 / X12 / L9N Cummins engines.

Cooling System
Cooling Package Standard (Engine Equipment – Engine Cooling)

Cooling package for all engines includes:

  • Radiator: 1,356 sq. in. face area; 2.5" core thickness with 12 FPI; heavy-duty down flow design with fiberglass reinforced nylon tanks; 2.5" inlet and outlet hose connections
  • Transmission Oil Cooler: incorporated into lower tank of radiator assembly; 3" × 21" × 8 plate aluminum heat exchanger; #12 SAE ORB inlet and outlet ports
  • Charge Air Cooler: 496 sq. in. face area; 4.25" core thickness; 4" inlet and outlet hose connections
  • Condenser Coil: 281 sq. in. face area; 1" core thickness with 20 FPI
  • Fans & Shroud: Sheet metal shroud creates sealed air path; (6) 12V PWM-controlled pusher fans in front of radiator; (2) additional fans in front of charge air cooler; controlled via PWM signals from software algorithms using J1939 network
  • Surge Tank: Steel welded tank with low coolant probe and sight glass

Coolant hoses manufactured from silicone material and secured with stainless steel, constant torque style hose clamps. Remotely mounted behind cab and above engine.

Note: On vehicles with transmission retarder, a separate Auxiliary Transmission Oil Heat Exchanger is installed; standard heat exchanger ports are plugged.

Anti-Freeze – -34°F Standard

-34°F / Below Zero (50/50 mix). Shell Rotella ELC, Extended lifetime coolant with service interval of 300,000 miles or 6,000 hours.

Coolant Recovery Tank Optional (Engine Equipment – Engine Cooling, Options)

4-quart coolant recovery tank mounted to RH side of cooling package and connected to radiator overflow tube.

Remote Fill Tank – Radiator Crossmember Mounted Standard (Engine Equipment – Engine Cooling, Remote Fill)

4-quart coolant reservoir with push button pump and check valve. Assembly includes 4-quart windshield washer fluid reservoir mounted on same bracket. Mounted on RH side of radiator crossmember.

Engine Air Intake
Air Cleaner – Cummins Opti-Air 1300 Series Standard (Engine Equipment – Air Cleaner)

6.27" ID × 10.43" OD × 10.43" L primary element; 5.12" ID × 8.05" OD × 19.52" L tapered secondary element. Includes air filter gauge (Filter Minder).

Intake Scoop Standard

Air Ram inlet hood, 6" diameter outlet.

Air Pre-Cleaner Optional (Engine Equipment – Air Cleaner Stack)

Donaldson brand, in-line vertical separator with dirt ejector, 6" diameter inlet and outlet.

Filter Minder – Located in Dash Optional (Instrumentation – Gauge, Misc Options)

2" Filter Minder gauge in dash. Left side location on LH and Dual steer applications; right side on RH steer.

Engine Exhaust
Vertical Exhaust Standard (Engine Equipment – Exhaust)

Mounted on LH side, vertically outboard above frame behind the cab, back-of-cab protrusion 24". Cummins vertical aftertreatment modules (design varies with fuel type). Stainless steel exhaust tubing wrapped with insulation. Heat shield wraps three sides of aftertreatment module, painted black.
