EPA Compliance Standard

All current Cummins engines sold by Battle Motors are compliant with the Phase 2 Heavy Duty emission and greenhouse gas requirements set forth by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for engines built prior to 20-Dec-2026.

More stringent EPA Phase 3 requirements are scheduled to take effect on engines built on or after 1-Jan-2027.

CARB Compliance Varies

Current Cummins diesel powered engines sold by Battle Motors are not compliant with the Phase 2 Heavy Duty emission and greenhouse gas requirements set forth by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) for engines built prior to 31-Dec-2026. Cummins CNG powered engines sold by Battle Motors are compliant with the CARB Phase 2 requirements.

More stringent CARB Phase 2 requirements are scheduled to take effect on engines built on or after 1-Jan-2027.

Cummins L9 Standard Features Standard

All Cummins L9 diesel engines include the following standard features:

  • Cummins engine-mounted spin-on full flow oil filter, front sump oil pan with 24 qt capacity
  • Pre-fuel 10-micron filter / water separator assembly – chassis mounted, heated, water-in-fuel sensor, replaceable filter element
  • Final-fuel 5-micron filter, engine mounted, with disposable cartridge
  • Cummins-Wabco 18.7 CFM air compressor
  • Heavy duty, soft-start engaging Delco 39MT starter with over-crank protection
  • Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) / Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) muffler and insulation-wrapped stainless steel exhaust
  • Engine Warranty through Cummins
