Instrumentation & Controls

Drive position layouts, analog gauge cluster, Fortris Hub cluster and touchscreen, standard and auxiliary gauges, switches, accelerator/brake pedals, and body interface connector.

Drive Position Layout (Model – Drive Type)
Left Hand Drive Standard

Single driver position. All instrumentation and controls on LH dashboard section. Accessory power ports and Fortris Touchscreen (if equipped) in center section. RH power window switches on RH section.

Right Hand Drive Optional

Single driver position. All instrumentation and controls on RH section (mirrors LH layout). LH power window switches on LH section.

Dual Drive Optional

Dual driver positions. LH position has primary instrumentation and controls. RH position has secondary, duplicate instrumentation. Fortris Touchscreen in center section.

Instrument Panel Options
Analog Gauge Cluster Standard (Instrumentation – Instrument Cluster)

Individual gauges and switches organized onto a metal, serviceable panel. Standard gauges: speedometer, tachometer, fuel level, DEF level, primary and secondary air pressure, engine oil pressure, engine coolant temperature, and electrical system voltage. LED indicator light panel at top center. Gauges vary depending on fuel type (diesel/CNG), units (imperial/metric), and auxiliary gauge requests. LH drive is shown; RH drive layout mirrors LH side. Dual drive layout utilizes one LH and one RH drive panel.

Fortris Hub Optional (Instrumentation – Instrument Cluster)

ECU: Electronic Control Unit providing control, processing and I/O for Fortris Hub screens and peripheral devices. Interfaces with the vehicle's RevolutionOS software.

Fortris Cluster Display: 10.3" WLED display, 1280 × 480 – 133 PPI. Same standard gauges as analog cluster. Includes gear selection indicator and message center. Centered behind steering wheel in serviceable panel.

14.6" touchscreen display in center dash area. Articulating arm allows 3-dimensional adjustability for all drive layouts (LH, RH, and Dual Drive).

Fortris Software and Applications Optional

Base software package included: OTA updates, web access, location data, fuel range data, preventative/maintenance, manuals and service data (requires Fortris Command on desktop/laptop).

Premium applications (subscription + additional hardware): cameras, 360° camera view, TPMS, Route Master, and others. See FortrisAI.com.

  • TPMS: Pressure sensors on all tires transmit data through TPMS gateway. Low tire warning and location info on touchscreen.
  • Cameras & 360° View: Video gateway for up to 8 cameras. "Install-your-own" or factory camera packages.
  • AI Cameras: AI Processor interprets camera images. Safety warnings or revenue generation packages available.

Standard Gauges (Instrumentation – Instrument Cluster)
Speedometer Standard

Analog: 3-3/8" dia., 0–80 mph (0–130 kph), 250° sweep, dual imperial/metric scale, amber backlight, orange illuminated pointer. Odometer in lower center; mode/set buttons for diagnostic messages and trip odometers.
Fortris: 2" dia., 0–80 mph, 240° sweep, left quadrant of cluster, red reading indicator.

Tachometer Standard

Analog: 3-3/8" dia., 0–3000 RPM, 250° sweep, amber backlight.
Fortris: 2" dia., 0–5000 RPM, 180° sweep, right quadrant of cluster.

Fuel Level – Diesel Standard

Analog: 2" dia., empty to full, 180° sweep; red low fuel warning light below 1/8 tank. DEF level integrated into fuel gauge.
Fortris: Digital, 0–100%, 80° sweep in upper-right quadrant of tachometer. Red low fuel warning light.

DEF Level Standard

Analog: Bar style gauge in lower section of fuel gauge. Red low-DEF warning light below 10%; blinks below 2.5%.
Fortris: Digital, 0–100%, 80° sweep in lower-left quadrant of speedometer.

Engine Oil Pressure Standard

Analog: 2" dia., 0–100 PSI, 250° sweep. Red low oil pressure warning light.
Fortris: Digital, 0–240 PSI, 80° sweep in upper-left quadrant of tachometer.

Engine Coolant Temperature Standard

Analog: 2" dia., 100°–250°F, 250° sweep. Red high coolant temp warning light.
Fortris: Digital, 100°–280°F, 80° sweep in lower-right quadrant of speedometer.

Primary / Secondary Air Pressure Standard

Analog: 2" dia., 1–150 PSI, 270° sweep. Dual color-coded pointers: white = primary, red = secondary.
Fortris: Digital, 0–120 PSI, outer ring of speedometer. Primary upper-right, secondary upper-left.

Battery Voltage Level Standard

Analog: 2" dia., 0–18 volts, 250° sweep. Red low voltage warning light.
Fortris: Digital, 0–48 volts, 80° sweep in lower-left quadrant of tachometer.

Auxiliary Gauges
Engine Oil Temp Optional (Instrumentation – Engine Oil Temperature)

Analog: 2" dia., 100–240°F, amber backlight, in gauge cluster area.
Fortris: Digital, 100–300°F, upper-right outer-ring of tachometer.

Transmission Temp Optional (Instrumentation – Transmission Temp)

Analog: 2" dia., 100–350°F, backlighted, red warning light.
Fortris: Digital, 100–350°F, lower-right outer-ring of tachometer.

Air Suspension Pressure Optional (Instrumentation – Air Suspension)

2" dia., 0–150 PSI. Available with analog and Fortris Hub packages.

Brake Application Optional (Instrumentation – Brake Application)

2" dia., 1–150 PSI, dual color-coded pointers. Available with analog and Fortris Hub packages.

Filter Minder Optional (Instrumentation – Gauge, Misc Options)

2" dia., engine intake air filter restriction indicator. Reset pin to recalibrate after filter servicing.

Switches
Ignition Switch Standard (Cab – Ignition Keys)

Rotary key actuated, 4-positions: Acc–Off–Run–Start. Keyed same as door locks. Located to right of steering column.

Headlights Standard

Rocker switch, 3-position (off – park lights – head lights), amber backlighting.

High Beam / Flash Standard

Multi-function stalk on LH side of steering column. Pulling rearward changes to high beam; pulling again returns to low beam.

Hazard Warning Flashers Standard

Located on steering column lower left. When activated all turn signals flash simultaneously.

Turn Signal Standard

Steering column left side stalk. Lift up = right turn; push down = left turn. Auto-cancels after turn completion.

Cruise Control Standard

Left side stalk: 3-position slider (off–on–resume/accelerate) plus momentary push button for speed set.

Dimmer – Dash Lights Standard

Momentary rocker switch, 11 dimming positions. Pressing top (BRIGHT) increases; pressing bottom (DIM) decreases intensity.

PTO Switch Optional

Rocker switch, 2-position (off–on), amber backlighting.

Neutral Interlock Optional (Transmission Equipment – Auto Neutral)

Rocker switch, 2-position (off–on), amber backlighting. Required for auto neutral and forced neutral systems.

Work Brake Optional (Transmission Equipment – Auto Neutral)

Momentary rocker, 3-position (momentary on–off–momentary on), amber backlighting. Required for auto neutral system.

Mirror Adjustment Joystick Optional (Doors/Mirrors – Cab, Mirror LH & RH)

Dual function: rotate clockwise/counterclockwise to select mirror (LH or RH); move joystick to adjust glass position. Required for motorized Lucerix mirrors.

Mirror Defog Optional (Doors/Mirrors – Cab, Mirror LH & RH)

Rocker switch, 2-position (off–on). Required for optional heated mirrors.

Pusher / Tag Axle Optional (Instrumentation – Pusher/Tag Cab Controls)

Rocker switch, 2-position (down–up), amber backlighting. Auto lift in reverse. Pressure regulator on front LH fender adjusts lift air spring pressure; max regulator outlet 125 psi.

DCDL – Differential Lock Optional (Instrumentation – Wheel Diff Lock Controls)

Rocker switch, 2-position (off–on), amber bar when engaged. Speed limited to 20–25 mph. Requires DCDL equipped axles.

Interaxle Differential Lock Optional (Instrumentation – Wheel Diff Lock Controls)

Rocker switch, 2-position (off–on), amber bar when engaged. Speed limited to 20–25 mph. Requires DCDL equipped axles.

Interaxle In-Cab Buzzer/Alarm Optional (Instrumentation – Interaxle Buzzer/Alarm)

Buzzer mounted in cab alerts operator while interaxle differential lock is active.

Interaxle Back-Up Alarm Optional (Instrumentation – Interaxle Buzzer/Alarm)

Back-up alarm alerts operator while interaxle differential lock is active.

Air Suspension Dump Valve Optional (Instrumentation – Air Suspension Dump Valve Control)

Rocker switch, 2-position (off–on). Amber bar when suspension dump valve is open (releasing air from air springs).

Air Suspension Height Override Optional

Momentary rocker, 2-position (off–momentary on). Allows driver to temporarily adjust air suspension ride height.

Accessory Switches Optional (Instrumentation – 12V Power Options)

Two (2) dash mounted spare rocker switches with 20-amp circuit breakers, pre-wired to in-cab body connector.

ABS Diagnostic Switch Standard

Toggle switch, 2-position (off–momentary on), located under dash next to steering column. Momentary activation grounds the ABS dash indicator output placing the ECU into diagnostic blink code mode. ABS dash indicator blink code output will begin after switch activation and continue until all codes have been displayed.

Note: Vehicle cannot be in motion during diagnostic blink code operation. Any movement after blink code diagnostics begin will exit blink code mode.

Aftertreatment Regeneration Switch Standard

Toggle switch, 2-position (off–momentary on), located under dash next to steering column, momentary switch activation causes ECM to initiate the stationary regeneration of the particulate filter in the aftertreatment system.

Note: Activation while vehicle is in motion will delay regeneration until the vehicle is stationary with the engine running.

Door Window – Standard* (Electrical – Door Windows) (Cab – Door Windows, Switch Count)

Momentary rocker switch, 3-position (momentary on-off-momentary on), amber backlighting. Pushing at bottom of rocker lowers window; pushing at top of rocker raises window.

  • No Switches: Standard* on any combination of flip up/fold back and/or bi-fold doors on both sides of cab.
  • 1 Switch: Standard* on any combination if solid standard door on the driver position side and flip up/fold back or bi-fold door on opposite side of cab. Switch located on side with solid standard door.
  • 2 Switches: Standard* on LH or RH drive only layouts with a solid standard door on the opposite side of the cab from the driver position and either a flip up/fold back or bi-fold door on the driver position side of the cab. One switch on each side of the cab.
  • 2 Switches: Standard* on dual drive layouts with a combination of a solid standard door and either a flip up/fold back or bi-fold door. One switch on each side of the cab.
  • 3 Switches: Standard* on LH or RH drive only layouts with solid standard doors on both sides of cab. Two switches located on the driver position side, single switch on opposite side.
  • 4 Switches: Standard* on dual drive layouts with solid standard doors on both sides of the cab. Two switches on each side of cab.
Windshield Wipers Standard (Cab – Windshield Wipers)

Dual actuators (multi-function momentary toggle – top, multi-function momentary push button – bottom) in single switch body, amber backlighting.

  • Toggle pushed in: If wipers off, turns wipers on to low speed; if wipers on in any mode, turns wipers off.
  • Toggle pushed up: If wipers off, turns wipers on to high speed; if wiper on, increments wiper to next highest speed; held > 1 second, wipers enter shortest delay mode.
  • Toggle pushed down: If wipers off, turns wipers on to low speed; if wiper on, decrements wiper to next lowest speed; held > 1 second, wipers enter longest delay mode.
  • Button pushed in (wipers off or in delay, not wiping): Press < 5 sec, single low speed “dry” wipe (mist); pressed > 500 msec, wipers continue in low speed and washes for 2 sec or until released; after release wipers continue in low speed for 3 sec then return to prior state.
  • Button pushed in (wipers on in low/high or wiping in delay): If pressed, wipers continue in current speed and washes for 2 sec or until released; wipers continue at current speed or delay.
Engine Brake, VGT Optional (Instrumentation – Cab, Engine Brake) (Engine Equipment – Engine)

Rocker switch, 2-position (off-on), amber backlighting, illuminated amber bar when on. Required component for VGT engine brake option.

Engine Brake, Jake Optional (Instrumentation – Cab, Engine Brake) (Engine Equipment – Engine)

Rocker switch, 3-position (off–low–high), amber backlighting, illuminated amber bar when on. Required component for jake brake option.

ATC Mud-Snow Optional

Momentary rocker switch, 2-position (off-momentary on), amber backlighting. Disables/enables ATC function during poor traction events; pushing once disables ATC, second push re-enables ATC.

Electric Horn Standard

Horn button with Battle logo located in center of steering wheel, push to actuate electric horn.

Air Horn Optional (Instrumentation – Air Horn)

Rocker switch, 2-position (off-on), backlighted, actuates air horn when on. Required component for optional air horn system.

Controls
Accelerator Pedal Standard

Floor mounted, treadle style, hall-effect non-contact sensor, IP67 sealed. Corrosion resistant cast aluminum treadle with rubber traction cover, coated steel base plate.

Brake Pedal Standard

Floor mounted, treadle style with rubber pad, Type E-6 dual brake valve.

Park Brake Standard

Air valve, PP-1 type, 40 psi auto release pressure.

Trailer Brake Optional (Model – Towing) (Electrical – Electrical, Trailer)

Trailer air supply valve, PP-7 type, 40 psi auto release pressure.

Tilt / Telescopic Steering Column Standard

Adjustment lever on left side of steering column. Pull lever to adjust tilt; push lever to adjust telescopic. 42° total tilt adjustment; 1.9" telescopic adjustment.

RH Steering Column Cover Optional

18 ga, steel, Storm Gray powder coat finish, optional on RH steering column in RH drive and Dual drive layouts.

Body Interface Connector
BODY INTERFACE CONNECTOR - STANDARD Standard

31 Pin Deutsch Connector is provided pre-wired for chassis functions, connector type and pin-out per TMC Recommended Practice RP-170A (Chassis-to-body electrical interface guidelines for refuse trucks).
