Application Notes:
1. Transmission utilizes flywheel mounting and tail shaft support.
2. Transmission utilizes nodal mounting.
3. Retarder controlled by accelerator position and foot brake application. Foot off throttle = 50% retarding. Foot off throttle + on brake = 100% retarding. Includes additional cooling module.
4. Dual PTO provisions at 1 and 8 o'clock (viewed from rear). Standard Allison 10-bolt mounting.
5. Dual PTO provisions at 4 and 8 o'clock (viewed from rear). Standard Allison 10-bolt mounting.

Installation Notes: Engine and transmissions installed using either engine flywheel mount or transmission nodal pad as indicated above. No other mounting options available from factory. Allison TranSynd fluid required for Allison Standard and Extended Warranties.
Transmission Shifters

All Battle Motors trucks utilize the Allison 6th Generation push-button style, keypad shift controller. Includes upgraded hardware, illuminated digital display with neutral indicator light, gear/mode selection display, and cyber-secure connection to the TCM. Displays low fluid level, fluid condition, filter condition, and clutch condition upon request.

Pushbutton, Single Control, Single Steering Standard

Pushbutton style controller; mounting corresponds to steering wheel position (LH or RH).

Pushbutton, Dual Control, Dual Steering Standard on Dual Steer

Pushbutton style controllers mounted on both LH and RH side of dash. Required on dual steering applications. Not available with single steer.

Transmission Programming
FuelSense 2.0 Optional (Transmission Equipment – Transmission Programming)

Proprietary software enhancements (DynActive Shifting) provide innovative shift scheduling using an algorithm to choose the optimal shift point based on your vehicle specifications and environmental parameters.

Neutral at Stop trims fuel consumption and emissions by reducing or eliminating the load on the engine when the vehicle is stopped. Acceleration Rate Management mitigates aggressive driving by automatically controlling engine torque to one of five available levels of engagement, precisely managing vehicle acceleration to a calibrated rate.

Fifth Gear Shift Pattern Standard (Transmission Equipment – Transmission Programming)

Standard transmission programming utilizes first through fifth gears only.

Overdrive Sixth Gear Shift Pattern Optional (Transmission Equipment – Transmission Programming)

Transmission programming expanded to include sixth gear overdrive for required applications. Factory approval required to determine suitability for each application.

Secondary Shift Schedule – Limit Road Speed at Steering Position Optional (Custom Options – Custom Options)

Available LH or RH side. Limits top speed to 25 MPH and first and second gears. Available at auxiliary control position. Use with Group 105, Pkg. 145.

Secondary Shift Schedule – Limit Road Speed w/ Differential Locked Optional (Custom Options – Custom Options)

Prevents operator abuse by limiting top speed to 25 MPH with interaxle and wheel differential lock controls engaged. Available at auxiliary steering position. Use with Group 105, Pkg. 145.

Note: Available with Inter-Axle Lock or Wheel Differential Lock options. Not available with Forced Neutral “AK” Function and Inter-Axle Lock or Wheel Differential Lock options.

Auto Neutral System
Auto Neutral System / "AG" Function Optional (Transmission Equipment – Auto Neutral)

Driver can leave cab when operational conditions are met and park brake is set.

  • Stage/Engage: Turn On “Neutral Interlock” switch. Arms the Forced Neutral System for activation.
  • Activate: Turn On "Work Brake" switch. System sets service brakes (must be <11 mph). Transmission shifts to Neutral (must be <6 mph). Engine programs to 1,450 RPM throttle advance. Foot throttle pedal(s) deactivated.
  • Deactivate: Depress service/foot brake pedal. Turn “Work Brake” switch off. Service brakes release. Transmission shifts into gear (must be under 900 RPM). Throttle advance released and foot throttle pedal(s) active when throttle returns to idle.

Body builder completes connections via 31-pin connector inside shifter console. Note: Allison Group 105, Pkg. 145. One "Work Brake" switch with single steer; two provided with dual control/steer. Park brake automatically sets with loss of electrical power.

Forced Neutral System
Forced Neutral / "AG" Function – Commercial Front Loader & Refuse Optional (Transmission Equipment – Auto Neutral)

Typically for Commercial Front Loader & Other Refuse Applications. Driver cannot leave cab.

  • Stage/Engage: Turn On “Neutral Interlock” switch. Arms the Forced Neutral System for activation.
  • Activate: Depress service/foot brake pedal. Transmission shifts to Neutral (must be less than 6 MPH). Shifter pad blinks last gear selected. “Forced Neutral” light illuminates. Engine programmed for 1,450 RPM throttle advance. Foot throttle pedal(s) remain active.
  • Deactivate: Release service/foot brake pedal. Transmission shifts into gear (must be under 900 RPM). Throttle advance released. Foot throttle pedal(s) remain active.

Note: Allison Group 105, Pkg. 145.

Forced Neutral / "AK" Function – Automated/Semi-Automated Side Loaders Optional

Typically for Automated or Semi-Automated Side Loaders Only. Driver cannot leave cab.

  • Stage/Engage: Turn On “Neutral Interlock” switch. Arms the Forced Neutral System for activation.
  • Activate: Apply ground signal to tan-orange wire in cab by extending Lift Arm or other similar method. Transmission shifts to Neutral (must be less than 6 MPH). Shifter pad blinks last gear selected. “Forced Neutral” light illuminates. Engine programmed for 1,450 RPM throttle advance. Foot throttle pedal(s) remain active.
  • Deactivate: Depress service/foot brake pedal (foot must be on brake pedal for transmission to go back into gear) to disconnect, remove ground signal from tan-orange wire in cab. Failure to depress brake pedal before Lift Arm is retracted will require manually selecting Neutral, then reselecting forward gear.

Note: Group 106, Pkg. 170 cannot provide a secondary shift schedule for both the “AK” Function and traction control options such as Inter-Axle or Wheel Differential Lock. Group 106, Pkg. 168 can provide a secondary shift schedule with the secondary shifter activation (limit speed in right hand drive mode).
