Administrative Engineering Technician - Manufacturing

Role and Responsibility

The ideal candidate will be very organized, familiar with the automotive and/or truck industry and manufacturing and inventory processes. Will need to understand the intricacies of a fast-paced environment, have a strong desire for growth within a company and be a great communicator. This position is the perfect fit for someone with a high level of initiative & follow-through, who is extremely detail oriented. The ideal candidate will have (or can learn) working knowledge of manufacturing and engineering processes.  

  • Interact with production employees on engineering design and assembly methods.
  • Create bills of materials and labor routers for new part setup.
  • Adjust part quantities by job in Epicor to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Document and help resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Program CNC machines for cutting and forming.
  • Attend meetings and training as required to maintain proficiency.
  • Meeting with team members and leaders to identify and resolve issues.
  • Preparing status reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing relevant information.
  • Report and escalate to management as needed.
  • Establishing effective project communication plans.
  • Handle miscellaneous department duties.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or Associates degree or higher supplemented by technical school training with a minimum of one year of related work experience.
  • Experience in project management in automotive/heavy truck industry highly preferred. 
  • Expert level Microsoft office expertise, specifically in Excel.
  • Experience using ERP and CRM programs desired.

Preferred experience and skills

  • Ability to effectively work as part of a team.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage several different tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate across the organization.
  • Working knowledge of Epicor ERP and experience processing Sales Orders, ticket numbers, job numbers and sales order numbers.

This individual will work in a way that stresses the importance of preventing injury, accidents, or illnesses to themselves or co-workers by correcting or reporting unsafe situations, incidents, or occurrences to their Supervisor immediately.
