Job Summary

  • As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting the quality of medium-heavy duty truck chassis manufactured at our plant.
  • You will perform visual and functional inspections, identify defects and non-conformities, and report them to the VP of Service.
  • You will also verify the compliance of the products with the specifications, standards, and customer requirements.
  • You will work in a team-oriented environment, following the quality procedures and policies, and ensuring the safety of yourself and others.

Job Responsibilities

  • Inspect the quality of medium-heavy duty truck chassis using various tools and equipment, such as gauges, calipers, micrometers, etc.
  • Check the dimensions, alignment, welding, coating, and assembly of the chassis components and parts.
  • Detect and report any defects, damages, or deviations from the quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Record the inspection results and data in the quality system and generate inspection reports.
  • Initiate corrective actions and follow up on the resolution of quality issues.
  • Participate in quality audits, inspections, and improvement activities.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the inspection area and equipment.
  • Comply with the quality policies and procedures, as well as the health and safety regulations.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 10 years of experience in quality inspection in the medium-heavy duty truck industry.
  • Knowledge of quality standards, specifications, and inspection methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
  • Proficiency in using measuring tools and equipment.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility to work in different shifts and overtime as needed.

This individual will work in a way that stresses the importance of preventing injury, accidents, or illnesses to themselves or co-workers by correcting or reporting unsafe situations, incidents, or occurrences to their supervisor immediately.
