Quality Technician

Description
Examines products as assigned including, but not limited to, incoming parts, fabrications, weldments, assemblies in process and completed chassis. Assures that all are produced according to specifications and certifies worthiness of products by performing duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Have a good working knowledge of truck chassis for all product lines including engineered chassis. Ability to test chassis components and drive to evaluate the drive train, steering and other mechanical systems. 
  • Must be able to complete all paperwork for the inspection and be able to further explain defects identified during testing.
  • Inspect incoming parts for quality and accuracy.
  • Conduct in-process inspections of trucks as they are coming down the assembly line.
  • Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

    Education

    • High School diploma or GED required.

    Training and Job Knowledge Requirements

    • Candidate must have a  fundamental understanding of both assembly, paint, and welding.
    • Candidate must have both electrical and mechanical aptitude.
    • Must be organized.

    Job Knowledge Requirements

    • Following established procedures, must have ability to prioritize multiple work assignments.
    • Recognize the Quality Management System in place at CCC and participate in the processes and procedures of the QMS.

    Physical Requirements

    • The physical demands of the employee working in this position are considered heavy.
    • Regularly required to sit or stand, bend, stoop, climb and reach.
    • May be subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

    Personal Protective Equipment

    • Safety glasses, hearing protection and safety shoes required in manufacturing areas.

    Work Environment

    • The employee will work in production environment on concrete surface with adequate lighting.
