Senior Product (BOM) Data Coordinator

We’re currently searching for a Product (BOM) Data Coordinator to join our team, help us grow and scale and continue our tradition of success. The Product (BOM) Data Coordinator is a proactive business specialist supporting the Engineering team to help us ensure that the performance, function, and appearance of our trucks are consistent. This position will manage the BOM setup, accuracy and improvement and involves managing the functional requirements, design, and operational information throughout each product's lifecycle.

This role is very critical to our extreme growth and the ideal candidate will be very organized, familiar with automotive/truck chassis (some technical knowledge is required) and engineering processes and is familiar with the intricacies of a fast-paced environment, have a strong desire for growth within a company and be a great communicator.  This position is the perfect fit for someone with a high level of initiative & follow-through, who is extremely detail oriented with a highly accurate typing ability. The ideal candidate will have (or can learn) working knowledge of product structure, selection logic and engineering change management processes.  

Candidates that possess technical knowledge of vehicles, options and specifications are highly preferred

Role and Responsibilities

  • Review incoming orders and change orders to summarize the net effects of changes on product databases, on the organization of Bill of Materials (BOMs), and ensure models are updated and chassis systems is updated for project implementations and coordination with Materials and Operations
  • Maintain product change information, build logic for change management within the order processes
  • Maintain master BOM database containing part groups, assignments, and assembly cell assignments
  • Provide assistance with BOM and product structuring questions
  • Manage the tasks of transmitting the BOM/part detail data to suppliers and production, along with any associated drawings, prints, schematics, and any other requirements for RFQs
  • Coordinate the BOMs and assembly cell selection activities related to new product implementation (NPI)
  • Monitor and communicate all BOM changes, issues, and solutions to all cross-functional teams within the organization 
  • Review BOM setup and groupings to identify areas for improvement
  • Enter new part numbers and BOM groups into the product configurator and any associated product selection logic
  • Ensures the proper baseline identification of configuration products, perform periodic audits, and provide verification of version release configuration items
  • Assist organizing various strategic planning processes across the organization
  • Other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
  • Function as primary focal point for engineering capabilities with both internal and external customers 
  • Function as engineering liaison member to provide solutions to various cross functional teams within the organization including production, sales, supply chain among others 
  • Interact with suppliers, dealers, and customers as required

  • Comfortable with complex problem solving and rapidly changing priorities
  • Comfortable in high pressure environments during rapid ramp up periods (as is the case during next six months)

    Qualifications and Education Requirements

    • Associates degree supplemented by technical school training with up to one year of related work experience 
    • Experience in product development in automotive/heavy truck axles and braking systems highly preferred
    • Expert level Microsoft office expertise, specifically in Excel
    • Experience using ERP and CRM programs desired.

    Preferred Experience and Skills

    • 3-D CAD proficiency required; SolidWorks experience desired
    • Strong automotive/heavy truck technical skills and mechanical aptitude.
    • Ability to effectively work as part of a team with demonstrated leadership skills.
    • Organizational skills and the ability to manage several different tasks/projects simultaneously.
    • Ability to communicate across the organization and lead presentations.
    • Recognize the Quality Management System in place at CCC and participate in the processes and procedures in the QMS ISO 9001:2015

    Physical Requirements/Work Environment

    • May be subject to random drug and alcohol testing
    • May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.

        Personal Protective Equipment

        • Safety glasses, steel-toed shoes and hearing protection required in manufacturing areas
        • Employees are required to follow all COVID-19 precautions in place including, but not limited to, use of face coverings and temperature readings
