We’re currently searching for a Mechanical Validation Engineer join our team, help us grow and scale and continue our tradition of success. The Mechanical Validation Engineer will oversee, evaluate, and calibrate equipment, systems, and procedures used in the development and production of vehicles and will ensure safety, quality, and compliance requirements are met. The primary responsibility will be to evaluate engineering systems and products based on safety and performance standards. This position is also responsible to analyze results and update activity logs and report. Troubleshooting and maintaining equipment will also be part of the duties. This role is very critical to our extreme growth and the ideal candidate will be a mechanical engineer, very organized, familiar with engineering validation processes and is familiar with the intricacies of a fast-paced environment, have a strong desire for product validations and compliance and be a great communicator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Consults with engineering leads, assesses internal or external requirements, and studies product characteristics to select validation objectives and standards.
- Establish performance and quality criteria
- Prepares protocols for validation or performance testing of new or modified individual components or systems and manufacturing equipment
- Create and run quality tests based on appropriate protocols
- Analyzes data from validation tests to determine whether components, systems and processes meet required criteria and specifications
- Collaborates and coordinates with appropriate departments regarding the scheduling or implementation of validation testing
- Identifies root causes of production, product, or assembly problems
- Identifies nonconformities of product or process standard and offers recommendations for resolving deviations
- Develops and maintains databases for tracking test results, validation activities, or validated systems.
- Develops, maintains, or reviews validation and compliance documentation including schematics, protocols, and engineering change notices
- Modifies testing methods or revisits test objectives and standards to resolve testing problems
- Calibrates equipment to ensure accurate measurements
- Evaluate engineering systems and processes
- Prepare and maintain any necessary testing equipment
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians on projects
- Assist organizing various strategic planning processes across the organization
- Other duties as requested, directed, or assigned
Education and Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required
- 2 years of Validation Engineering experience in the automotive or heavy truck industry required
- Experience with electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems on mobile and on-highway heavy equipment
Training and Job Knowledge Requirements
- Strong technical skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to effectively work as part of a team with demonstrated leadership skills.
- Organizational skills and the ability to manage several different tasks/projects simultaneously.
- Ability to communicate across the organization and lead presentations.
