Description

The Manufacturing Engineer at Crane Carrier Company is responsible for specifying, selecting, overseeing installation, validation, and launch. In addition, this person will be responsible for hardware/software implementation/application/training of various manufacturing systems ranging from CNC laser, CNC forming, production line painting, and assembly lines. To be successful in this role, one must possess strong problem-solving skills, the ability to work within demanding timeframes and draw on a wide range of Engineering principles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Identify production requirements and select appropriate technology solutions.
· Serve as subject matter expert for a variety of equipment and process.
· Train associates and peers as appropriate in the software and equipment applications.
· Develop SOP’s, MPM and OPM’s needed for equipment operational efficiency.
· Conducting research, documenting findings, and presenting at meetings as required.
· Developing design documents for mechanical parts and final products.
· Drive continuous improvement through DFM methodologies.
· Work with quality assurance to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
· Selecting the required tools and materials for the manufacturing process.

Material Handler is responsible for various duties involving shipping, receiving, properly inventorying and transporting parts/material throughout plant.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Responsible for using fork lift to unload trucks at shipping/receiving dock or in yard
· Picks parts and delivers/stages items in correct department
· Operates fork lift in yard which exposes worker to weather and cold/hot temperatures
· Frequently climbs on/off fork lift from various surfaces (i.e. concrete, gravel, dirt, uneven ground)
· Utilizes the ERP system and Office programs to look up parts/locations and enter shipments/receipts

Description

Responsible for preparation and paint of cabs and other vehicle components for the paint process. Plan and coordinate work for assigned team members to meet production schedule, reduce rework and maintain efficient workflow through the paint department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Responsible for using fork lift to unload trucks at shipping/receiving dock or in yard
· Lead department by driving processes and directing material flow through subordinate resource groups.
· Work with Manufacturing Engineer to improve existing and develop new processes that support or increase throughput and quality demands.
· Participate in each are of the paint shop as needed.
· Know the status of parts and components in the paint department, help troubleshoot issues to maintain adherence to the plant production schedule.
· Consistently follows safety procedures, wears safety equipment and encourages team members to do the same.
· Follow procedures to maintain all tools and requirement, including maintenance of booths and filters as assigned.
· Create standard work for all areas of activity and level load based on standard work.
· Provide training to employees and appropriately cross-train employees from other departments.

· Negotiate pricing, delivery and other terms to ensure mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers.
· Review and establish long-term agreements.
· Identify and qualify new suppliers following appropriate ISO standards.

· Responsible for preparation of truck cabs, frames and parts for painting using high pressure air gun
· Use of fork lift as needed to maneuver racks and carts containing parts in/out of paint booths
· Responsible for painting of various size parts, truck cab and frame
· Responsible for touch-up work after truck cab/frame have completed painting process
· Responsible for mudding, sanding, washing, and masking of cab/frame/components prior to paint application
· Responsible for mixing paint and carrying paint pot into painting area

· Responsible for mudding, sanding, washing, masking and other preparations of cabs, frames and components prior to paint
· Use of sanders and grinder to smooth edges of parts and to grind rough areas prior to paint
· Handles various size parts and pushing/pulling parts on carts into paint or shot blast booth
· Use of fork lift as needed to maneuver racks/carts containing parts and for general material handling
· Completion of general labor tasks as assigned, including light assembly, housekeeping, material handling
· Shot blasting of parts as needed, after completing required training

This includes designing the company’s quality system to support those criteria. Ensuring that employees are trained to the right quality standard and that all safety requirements are met throughout the production process. An important part of this role involves audits and meticulous documentation of quality opportunities which support cross-functional collaboration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Overseeing the quality management system across plant operations.
· Coordinating, implementing, and maintaining a Corrective Action System for tracking quality issues/customer complaints and subsequent corrective action for manufacturing operations.
· Performing quality and performance assessments, reporting as required and identifying opportunities for quality improvements in products or processes.
· Assisting Materials with vendor management to support incoming quality.
· Completing internal audit functions as assigned.
· Collaborating with others across the organization to most efficiently and effectively solve quality opportunities and/or implement quality improvements.
· Acting as a customer liaison for quality concerns as required. May require some travel (<10%) to customer or dealer locations.
· Supporting continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives that relate to assigned work area or projects.

Mechanical Assembly which may include all or some of the following tasks:
· Assembly of front and rear axles and all suspensions parts on axles prior to installation on chassis
· Build of interior of truck cabs including installation of seats. steering column, seat belts, cab doors and windows
· Assembly of engine parts including transmission and alternator to engine block
· Sub-assembly of various truck chassis components -- electrical, mechanical and hydraulic
· Final chassis assembly
· Operation of overhead cranes, forklift and other heavy equipment as required

A Product Engineer at Crane Carrier Company handles all aspects involved in the design of our quality products. This includes, but is not limited to, CCC brand Truck Chassis, Engineering Chassis, and Cab design.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Review customer drawings and specifications to determine requirements and/or feasibility of product.
· Create Solidworks CAD models and drawings. Perform mathematical computations to develop, design and create detailed specifications of components.
· Perform preliminary and advanced work in development of working layouts and final master parts, assembly and drawings.
· Make bill of material and drawing revisions following the Change Management Process.
· Create and release Bills of Materials for new sales and designs.
· Act as a liaison between Engineering and other departments/personnel.
· Interact with suppliers, dealers, and customers as required.
· Support other members of the Engineering department, check design work to verify layout, fit, form, function, materials, specifications and other details/documents as required.
· Complete design studies, tolerance stack-ups, layout, drawings, calculations, weight estimates and provide supporting documentation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Create and revise CAD models and drawings of products and parts for production.
· Contribute in a team-working environment; providing mentorship and leadership to other Designers in the department.
· Create layouts of parts and assemblies for review.
· Create drawings of CCC design concepts for presentation to current or potential customers.
· Ensure all designs meet design quality, supply and serviceability requirements.
· Verify that all designs are complete and fully documented in models, drawings and Bills of Material.
· Collaborate with other functions in the organization to support various projects related to cost-savings, continuous improvement and other organizational goals.
